During the Tragically Hip’s Fully and Completely tour in 2015, Gord Downie teamed up with Canadian fashion designer Izzy Camilleri to create a wardrobe of custom leather suits worthy of Gord's energetic and passionate performance. This would be the first time Gord approached his wardrobe in this way.
Through inspiration that motivated the style of this new custom stage wardrobe, 4 suits were created for the tour. Each piece was released at different times during the tour starting with Black Leather, a Pinstripe fabric, then White Leather for the summer gigs and ending with the Brown Leather for the Fall concerts. Izzy held on to the white and brown leather remnants not really knowing at the time what she would do with them.
After the success of the 2 previous keychain fundraisers, made from the metallic leather remnants of the Man Machine Poem Tour wardrobe, Izzy has decided to dedicate the last remaining leather from the Fully and Completely Tour, to raise funds for the Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. These new keychains shaped like guitars, have the word ‘courage’ embossed into the leather reminding us of the strength and inspiration Gord demonstrated during the last 2 years of his life. The metal findings on the keychain are the same colours used in the suits.
Each keychain will be tagged, numbered and signed by Izzy. These are the last remaining remnants, therefore, this will be the last sale of this kind. Quantities are limited to the amount of keychains the remnants will provide.
Familyband is honoured to be collaborating with Izzy Camilleri on this unique project and we're thrilled to be offering such an iconic piece of history to the fans.
